It was reported earlier this evening that Jeremiah Masoli was doing the long-rumored and expected, heading to Ole Miss to play football for the Rebels in 2010.
Speaking to the Jackson Clarion-Ledger, Rebels head coach Houston Nutt said he warned his soon-to-be new quarterback of the public repercussions that would come with enrolling at the school and taking the field with his off-field baggage not too far out of view.
“I got eyes on me for taking a thug — that’s what people are saying,” Nutt told Masoli according to the Clarion-Ledger. “You’ve got to be able to handle it and be a positive kid.”
Nutt also spewed the blahblahblah as should be expected in this situation that, no young man, your Eugene insolence will not be tolerated here in Oxford thank you very much.
“The rules are going to be different for him,” he said. “I told him I have zero tolerance. I have a hairtrigger. I know he knows I will pull the trigger so fast.”
Really, though. What does Nutt have to worry about?
His newest QB was simply a victim of circumstance every single time he was judged to have stepped his toes across a legal line. Most certainly, lightning won’t strike an unfortunate and innocent and football-talented bystander a fourth time, right?
sometimes you feel like a Nutt sometimes you don’t.
The rules will be different: I have zero tolerance.
C’mahn.
I”m numb at this point. If someone hasn’t drowned or thrown a dog into a pen as bait who are we to say he can’t play? Right?
Shocking that an SEC school would accept this guy.
This news means Boozie will now hitch his trailer to his pick up truck without a bed and move to Mississippi along with his boyfriend Masoli. Look out Mississipians – a rabid former Duck is on the way to your state to drive the coaches and fans Nutt(s).
@ Buckeye
Heard Maurice Clarett is back on campus. What a guy…
@xacvol
Not to play football.
“I got eyes on me for taking a thug — that’s what people are saying”
I’m not saying that, I have no idea what that even means.
Dammit son!! Well at least he was warned and now that warning has gone public. Nutt better be ready to act if he has too. He hasn’t been there long enough to go without proving he means the warning once its been issued.
Oregon fans are going to love how this plays out.
Masoli NEVER really had to pay for his crimes but he will now. He is going to get a taste of the high energy D-line play & the oh so fast corners of the SEC. He will spend more time on his back than he does when he sleeps. Masoli will be running for his life–literally every week.
Welcome to SEC Def football……
