Fortunately, we have some on-field news involving Lane Kiffin‘s USC Trojans. Unfortunately, it’s not the kind of news Kiffin & Company needs or wants right now.
Defensive end Nick Perry suffered an injury to his right ankle Wednesday, but it was thought at the time that it was just a mild sprain.
The sprain part was correct, but unfortunately the mild part wasn’t as Kiffin confirmed Thursday afternoon that Perry has incurred the dreaded high-ankle sprain. The coach said the redshirt sophomore, who was wearing a protective boot on his injured foot during practice today, is expected to be out for a period of 2-4 weeks.
Last season, Perry played in 13 games and had nine tackles for loss.
