Kansas pulls an Ole Miss, loses to North Dakota State

Are you kidding me?

It was surprising enough to discover North Dakota State fielded a football team, so imagine how Kansas felt when the Bison actually beat their beloved Jayhawks. At home. 6-3.

The work ethic to achieve such a lowly feat is bar none the greatest I’ve ever witnessed. Now, if only Kansas athletic director Lew Perkins had some kind of coach who would abuse his players for such a defeat…

In case you missed it, here are the highlights.

the first time they showed the stands i thought the person walking down the stairs broke out of prison to watch the game.
some of these kids were fast! the cops mustve been chasing them…

    Nicely done.
Turner Gill really needs to re-think his asinine decision to move Toben Opurum to linebacker. He could’ve bulled through NDSU for a lot better than the 1.6ypc some of the KU RBs were averaging.

At least Ole Miss scored some points.
They way KU played tonight they will not be favored in any game they play this season. The Ubiquitous They say you’re never as bad as your last loss, but KU might be an exception.
Ga Tech coming into Larryville next Saturday….that could be ugly.

Charles Barkley commented on his buddy Turner Gill’s devastating loss: “Well, dis only shows that Ahhhhburn maked a mistake by not haring Nurner Till. Had they dided that den Auburn wooda woned the game an gotted the upset.

BOTH teams had someone take a fall on the team entrances. Classic.

@sportsdrenched-True, Ole Miss scored points, which means their offense showed up. Their defense didn’t. The converse is true with KU: their defense showed up, and their offense didn’t.
Isn’t NDSU a traditional FCS power? I don’t know whether JSU is, but maybe it doesn’t matter.

Nah, these can’t be the higlights. I saw touchdowns in the clip.

NDSU is a good FCS school.
If I’m not mistaken, they beat Minnesota a few years ago.

This just in: college football is more than just the FBS level. North Dakota State is no stranger at taking down D1 schools. In 2007, the Bison went on the road and beat Minnesota and MAC Champion Central Michigan. No reason to take a cheap shot at the NDSU program. With eight national titles, the Bison has a superior football tradition than Kansas.
Every year FCS schools either beat or play FBS schools tough, it’s good for college football to have these occasional upsets.

“It was surprising enough to discover North Dakota State fielded a football team”??? Please. give NDSU a little credit. They have a proud football tradition stretching back over 100 years.
In the 7 years since they moved up to the FCS, they are 4-3 agains FBS opponents, and a missed FG away from being 5-2
Beat Minnesota (and should have beat them the 1st time, missed fg), Ball State, Western Michigan, and now Kansas.
they also won the Great West Conference championship in 2006.
They were 6 time DII National Champions, and won the North Central Conference Championship 23 times.
    All time record: 586-343-33 (.609)
Just because they aren’t a major BCS team, doesn’t mean they’re a group of guys that just walked in off the street and showed up to play.

central michigan, not western michigan… Either way they’re no stranger to beating FBS teams

The highlights from the this game were a lot more exciting!

NDSU has a great history… a mini dynasty in the 80s… former HC now a coordinator (or at least recently) in the NFL. Current HC was offered a position as Associate HC at Stanford at the same time he was offered the NDSU head job.
Minnesota won’t schedule the Bison after a near defeat and a defeat in back to back seasons.

ndirishman- appreciate the respect, but your facts are a little fuzzy. We play the Goofers again next year. Go Bison!

B1SON– my bad sir, a few years ago Brewster said the Gophers “gain nothing by playing FCS teams”… that’s what I based the comment off of. Thanks for the head’s up.
