'Canes could get two key DL back for Buckeyes

In the post right below this one, it’s noted that Ohio State is expected to get a defensive lineman back for their showdown this weekend against Miami.  The Hurricanes appear to be ready to double-up on their opponent’s line return.

Defensive tackles Micanor Regis and Curtis Porter both missed the season-opening win over Florida A&M with injuries.  The ‘Canes did not reveal the specific nature of the injuries.

The Palm Beach Post, however, reports that both players will return for the game with the No. 2 Buckeyes.

Regis was listed as a starter on the preseason depth chart, while Porter is expected to be a major contributor in the rotation.

So i guess convict U will only get stomped by 21 points instead of 28.
Buckeyes will own these overrated jokes…

Love how Miami is still referred to as Thug or “Convict U” even though their last arrest was back in 2007. Not to mention they have the 3rd highest grade in academic achievement in the nation.
But if it makes you feel better… yes Miami is “Thug U.”
    Jackass.
    Canes by two touchdowns.

Have the Buckeyes made the appropriate referee preparations just in case they need another late flag for an invisible penalty?

  4. BrownsTown says: Sep 8, 2010 12:18 PM

Have the Canes grown a pair to be able to convert a 1st and goal from the 2? Or stop a 4th and 17? This is aside from the fact that that play was still deemed a penalty after review in the weeks after the game.
Who knew that Miami’s chief export was tears. I thought it was oranges or cocaine.

  5. BrownsTown says: Sep 8, 2010 12:22 PM

…..Or the missed block in the back call on Roscoe Parrish’s 50 yd punt return in the 4th. Nope, all we hear about is that correct call of PI. The epitome of sore losers.

  6. Geetee52 says: Sep 8, 2010 12:40 PM

AB – When you watch the game on Saturday, just see if the impartial network announcers bring that bogus call up…along with maybe a showing of the call a time or two…and then tell them…and everyone else that is not a Buckeye fan…to move on too.
Anyone can point to other plays for and against during the course of a game…but on that day…in that game…on what should have been the last play…almost universally outside of Columbus, Ohio it was recognized it was a loss for you hicks….except for a late flag thrown on an invisible penalty. It is clearly a consensus among all who watched…whether they hate the Hurricanes or not…that Miami was robbed.
I’m glad my comment got your goat…it goes to show how every time that ‘National Championship’ is mentioned, there is an asterisk in the back of every Buckeye fan’s mind. You have a trophy sitting in the display case that you do not deserve.

  7. Arizona Buckeye says: Sep 8, 2010 1:10 PM

Geetee – Everybody else has moved on – it is the few remaining bitter whining fans like yourself that haven’t and continue to drone on about one single play that may or may not have been correct. You can find endless sites and arguments both pro and con.
Here is the big point you fail to realize – there were calls missed that would have eliminated the overtime all together. Had they ruled Gamble’s catch a catch (as it was), then no overtime – you would have lost. Had the refs called various other holding calls that they did not – different ballgame as well. Had your defense actually stopped us on 4 – 17 – end of ballgame. Had you actually scored on any of the 4 attempts from 1 yard out – different game!
I find it laughable that you crybabies continue to whine about 1 call while totally ignoring the plethora of other impact moments you conveniently forget. So I’ll say it again – move on, get over it – you lost the game! You were manhandled by a defense that confused your entire team. You didn’t game plan for our QB running all over the field and you lost the game.
Trust me, there is no asterisk in the back of any Buckeye fan’s mind – we know we kicked your ass all over the field. You obviously have an over blown sense of yourself as well because your comments do not get my goat – I just thoroughly enjoy bitch slapping little sore losers like yourself.

    Couldn’t agree more GeeTee…
If this wasn’t recognized as a TERRIBLE call, then why was Terry Porter FIRED the day after the game? (He is the referee who called the invisible PI)
And, no… BrownsTown, our chief export is not tears. It’s REAL NFL TALENT. Not the Ted Ginn’s, Vernon Gholston’s, James Laurinaitis’s, Maurice Clarett’s, Troy Smith’s, A.J. Hawk’s, David Boston’s, Chris Gamble’s of the world..

It will be easy to prove which of us is right when it comes to moving on. If they mention the bogus penalty call during the broadcast on Saturday…it will mean everyone hasn’t…if they don’t…it will mean they have.
You are right about Miami not playing a great game that day…but even with all the mistakes…it was still good enough to beat Ohio State…except for the late flag on an invisible penalty when the game was over.

Well Miami fans (at least the whinny little bitches on this board) – you’ve successfully gotten rid of the Thug U, Convict U, and The ‘U’ moniker and replaced it with Miami Boo Hoo and Cryami. I thoroughly makes me laugh at how pissed off and pussified you sound when bellyaching about a game you got your asses kicked in.

  12. BrownsTown says: Sep 8, 2010 1:59 PM

    To recap:
“Earlier this year Big 12 commissioner Kevin Weiberg said game films had been reviewed and that, in fact, Porter had made the right call. The Big Ten supervisor of officials, who is used by the NCAA to assign officials for bowl games, concurred this week.
The problem is, few people saw the actual infraction. All the replays focused on Sharpe jumping for a ball in the end zone intended for Ohio State receiver Chris Gamble.
The penalty occurred on fourth-and-3 from the Miami 5 in the first overtime of Ohio State’s 31-24 victory. At the line of scrimmage, Sharpe tried to “jam” Gamble and impeded his progress. When the official who apparently had the call in the end zone didn’t make one, Porter came rushing from the back of the end zone to throw the flag four or five seconds after the play had ended. “

Waaahhh waaahhhh waaahhh – perhaps its time to change your little diaper – its getting old and smelly.
Can’t wait until THE Ohio State Buckeyes thump the Cryami Sugarcanes again this Saturday – really looking forward to see what excuses you crybabies will come up with this time for getting your asses handed to you.

I know one thing for sure….I like the Canes +10 that I booked early Monday.
Don’t think any of the loyal Buckeyes on here would be willing to give 10 pts on this one.
My biggest gripe is that OSU/UM, FSU/Oklahoma & ND/Mich are all on at 3:30.
    3 great early season matchups.
Still think Oklahoma’s longest in the country home win streak (31) ends Sat when FSU burns that Sooner Schooner to the ground……….

  15. Geetee52 says: Sep 8, 2010 2:36 PM

Now there is some real news…a conference mouthpiece sticking up for a ref on a blown call.
If we’re going to start pulling articles out quoting people that have a conflict of interest…how about this one?
TWO of your own players said it…even as late as this week…that the ref blew that call.
    http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/09/08/canes-could-get-two-key-dl-back-for-buckeyes/
If the ref had kept the flag in his pocket…NOBODY would have said a word…because it simply wasn’t a penalty.
In any event…it should be a good game Saturday…thanks for the banter.

    @ BrownsTown
The GATORS play South Florida (USF) & FSU
BOTH will be in the top 25 at seasons end. Your OSU only plays Miami.
On the Miami Ohio game last yr is over. Bet you MiO finishes with a better record than 2 of the 3
other cupcakes Ohio, Marshal & Eastern (so eastern they’re in the lake) Mich.
In response to your other insensitive remarks about our playing 9 home games annually…..
We feel “obligated” to stay home and invite strangers to come on down to the SWAMP for some good southern hospitality.
Everyone wants to come to Florida so begrudgingly we stay here and serve as good hosts.
If we left here rather than entertain guests that would be selfish to disappoint the masses………
Sometimes it PAYS to think of others first.
It is down right sinful the verbal abuse we have to endure to fulfill our humanitarion duties……

    Geetee52,
Whatever excuse you need to convinced yourself is fine by me. Too bad Miami wasn’t man enough to punch it in w/ 4 tries from the 2. I guess that flash and finesse couldn’t handle the heart and toughness of the OSU D. You definitely won if we’re counting style points.
BTW, I checked out your 2:36 link and I’m not convinced by what it showed me.

    blitz,
Heck no, I’m not taking 10, or the current 8.5. I respect the opposition, unlike the sore loser Canes fans here. I think OSU wins, but not by that much, especially with Tressel at the helm. He’ll sit on a 2 pt lead if he has one.

Geetee – you’re cracking me up with your futile attempts to justify your delusions. I heard two cheerleaders and the waterboy on Cryami said it was a good call.
Again, you look like a pathetic pussy constantly crying about one call in a game of many. Grow up, stop calling the one girlfriend who dumped you, move out of your mommies basement, and get a life!
