For someone who keeps writing about it being “One Game” he sure is faulting UF & LSU for being subpar week 1.

I voted before I read the article but had I known it was MickeyV, I would have voted — the same.
At this point, who the hell knows which conference is the best but at this point, I’d rank them SEC, Pac-10, Big-10 and then I’d think seriously about the MWC, with BYU, Utah, TCU and Air Force (3 of the 4 beat BCS opponents), against the other BCS conferences. This weekend will pit a several REAL BCS teams against each other but I’d wait until the fourth week to put any real stock in which conference is better.

There are those who think the SEC is the strongest conference year-in, year-out. That’s absolutely untrue, in my opinion. However, I do think that in any ten-year period, the SEC is probably the strongest conference for around 3-5 of the years. The Pac-10, Big 12, and ACC have each taken top honors at various points in the past decade.
In other words, the SEC is probably the strongest in a given year more than any other one conference is, but not all or even the majority of the time.

No brainer, SEC dominates at least when you consider BCS-era bowl performance.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowl_Championship_Series
    1) 6-0 in BCS title games, every other conference has a losing record in BCS title games.
    2) UF (2), LSU (2), Bama, and UTenn have all won BCS titles.
    3) Only the Big 12 conference has won 2 BCS title games, a feat equaled by two BCS teams.
    4) SEC has a .737 winning percentage (14-5) in BCS bowl games.
I don’t know how to define top to bottom, but the top of the SEC is clearly the best in the BCS era and the “top” is typically more than one team like many other conferences.
The argument is basically over when you consider that 4 SEC teams have won titles. The Big 12 was USC* and then???? The Big 10 is OSU and then???? The Big 12 is UTexas, Oak and then???

Is this a joke? The Pac-10 might have good coaching and quarterbacks, but there is no way you can say their teams are as good as the SEC. In addition I’d take any of the Big 10′s top 3 teams (Iowa, Ohio State, Wisconsin) over any Pac-10 team.

Best coaches in the Pac 10? In terms of HCs, it isn’t even close.
    Who beats Meyer?
    Who beats Saban?
    Who beats Spurrier?
    Who beats Miles?
Yes, Chow is a stud, but that is it. Mentioning Sark and Kiffy is a joke.
Mikey should quit writing about football as his logic if flawed.
