Demps now a game-time decision for Gator-Tide showdown

Throughout the week, it seemed very likely that Florida would have running back Jeff Demps for their hyped match-up with Alabama Saturday night.

So much so, in fact, that Urban Meyer at various points this past week said “I think we’re going to have Demps” and “I’d say it’s probable he plays.”

Just hours ahead of kick-off, however, Demps’ situation has become at least slightly less than probable. In an interview with ESPN, Meyer now says that Demps “is going to be a game-time decision.”

Demps suffered a sprained left foot Sept. 18, then aggravated the injury last Saturday. He leads the team in rushing, and would become the second key Gator -- kicker Caleb Sturgis being the other -- unavailable for the SEC showdown.
