‘Canes make a change to their starting defense

Coming off a 45-17 beating at the hands of in-state rival Florida State in which they gave up nearly 300 yards (298) on the ground, Miami has decided to shake up the middle of their defense a little bit.

According to the Sun Sentinel, head coach Randy Shannon has decided to yank Colin McCarthy from his starting middle linebacker spot and replace the senior with true freshman Kelvin Cain.

Per the Sentinel, Cain was expected to receive more playing time this week, but the move into the starting lineup comes as somewhat of a surprise.

The Hurricanes face Duke in a game that starts right about now.
