Mercifully, UCLA QB Prince’s season put out of its misery

It seemed like every other day, there was some question as to whether or not quarterback Kevin Prince would be available for an upcoming game.

Fortunately for Prince and a knee that’s been giving him problems since injuring it toward the end of September, UCLA’s medical staff has gone Old Yeller on his 2010 season.

According to the Associated Press, Prince underwent surgery on his right knee and will be sidelined for the remainder of the year.

The surgery was undertaken to repair the meniscus in the knee. A microfracture procedure was performed as well to stimulate cartilage growth in his knee.

Richard Brehaut, who started Thursday’s loss to Oregon due to the Prince injury, will, provided he can remain healthy, be the Bruins’ starter from here on out.
