Based on his relief performance during Joe Paterno‘s 400th win last week, it was expected that Matt McGloin would get the start at quarterback for Penn State this weekend.
During his teleconference Tuesday afternoon, JoePa confirmed the expected.
The legendary Nittany Lions head coach, after initially saying “I really don’t know how to answer” a question regarding McGloin getting the start, ultimately said that “we’re gonna go with” the former walk-on against Ohio State Saturday.
After replacing Rob Bolden against Northwestern Saturday, McGloin completed 18-of-25 passes for 225 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in the come-from-behind win over the Wildcats. Bolden, who suffered a concussion against Minnesota Oct. 23 and missed the Oct. 30 game against Michigan, could get some playing time as well against the No. 8 Buckeyes.
