Illini LB arrested on battery charge

Seldom used as it is, Illinois will be without linebacker Evan Frierson for an indefinite period of time, the Chicago Tribune is reporting.

Frierson was arrested, apparently over the weekend, and charged with aggravated battery.  There were no details given as to what led to the arrest.

As a result of the legal issue, the sophomore has been suspended indefinitely by head coach Ron Zook.

Frierson has played in nine games this season, and has recorded six tackles.
