RB Ellington now a game-time decision for Clemson vs. Gamecocks

For the past three games, Clemson’s been forced to do without their leading rusher. For their in-state rivalry game Saturday night, however, that may change.

Running back Andre Ellington suffered some fairly significant ligament damage in his foot as well as a broken toe Oct. 30 and has been sidelined since. On Tuesday, head coach Dabo Swinney, the Charleston Post & Courier writes, is encouraged by the progress Ellington has made and has upgraded him to a game-time decision for the South Carolina game.

For his part, Ellington told the media that his foot is “OK” and “good”, although, as noted by the paper, the sophomore won’t be 100 percent even if he does take the field against the Gamecocks.

Even given the fact that he’s missed the past three games, Ellington’s 686 yards rushing and 10 rushing touchdowns still leads the team.
