Mississippi State loses coach to another job

No, not that coach.

Citing a source with knowledge of the situation, the Daily Advertiser is reporting that Mississippi State receivers coach/passing game coordinator Mark Hudspeth has agreed to become Louisiana-Lafayette’s 25th head coach.

Schools officials have yet to confirm the hiring; sports information director Daryl Cetnar told CFT via email Friday that “the University has no comment at this time” on reports that Hudspeth had been hired to replace the dismissed Rickey Bustle.

However, the paper reports that Friday was Hudspeth’s final day at MSU was Friday, and he will formally be introduced as the Ragin’ Cajuns’ new coach at an 11 a.m. ET press conference Monday.

Hudspeth has spent the past two seasons on Dan Mullen‘s Bulldog coaching staff. Prior to that, he spent seven seasons as the head coach at Div. II North Alabama.
