Addazio talks to Temple on coaching vacancy

It was reported this past weekend that erstwhile Florida offensive coordinator Steve Addazio would interview for the coaching vacancy at Temple.

Apparently, those reports have come to fruition.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, and citing sources with knowledge of the situation, Addazio was in Philadelphia Monday and talked to Temple officials about replacing Al Golden, who was hired by Miami earlier this month. ¬†There was no word on how the talks went, or if Addazio’s extensive coaching experience — 19 years at the collegiate level — would give him an edge over other candidates.

If the report is accurate, Addazio would become the second known candidate to interview for the position, joining Owls offensive coordinator Matt Rhule.

Other coaches connected to the opening include Pittsburgh offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti, Western Michigan head coach Bill Cubit and New Hampshire coach Sean McDonnell.
