Brandon Harris leaving The U for the NFL

Brandon Harris

It’s been expected that Brandon Harris would leave his remaining eligibility on the table and jump from Miami to the NFL.

Tuesday, that expectation became a reality.

In a press release, the cornerback officially announced that he will be entering the April draft.

“This decision is about what is best for me and my family at this point in my life,” said Harris in a statement.  “I am confident that I can achieve all my goals at the next level and I am ready to begin that pursuit.

“I have grown up so much as a football player and as a man at the University of Miami.  The relationships that I have built here with the players and coaches will be with me for the rest of my life. In addition to the team and University, I have to give credit to coach Shannon and coach McGriff, who were instrumental in my development.”

Harris, who has yet to pick an agent, started 32 of the 39 games he played at Miami, and was an All-ACC performer the past two seasons.

Welcome to the NFL! You will have just as many convicts to coach there as at the U.

    BANG IT HERE, HOMIES!!!!

The Convict comments about Miami are so old. Really time to move on and come up with something new. Miami has had 1 arrest in 4 years now. When Marve pulled off side mirror of a car. Really come up with something new. Florida Gators had how many issues past 3-4 years? I think close to 23-24.

Harris needs another year in college. He is far from ready. I am sorry I watched all but 1 game this year he is not ready. In big games he got burned. NFL W.R’s will school him for a long while. Should have stayed the extra year got some new coaching from hew staff that might have helped him. I still wish well.

Indeed, and to me it is amusing how not one sports writer has held up Miami as a stellar institution and commented on the legacy Randy Shannon left.

But no we get a boo hoo goodbye to Urban Myer whose teams were great, had great guys but had like 30 arrests in that period. And it wasn’t just breaking a window, try DUI, drugs and punching women….you know nothing too serious.

The difference here?!?! You win and you are a Saint, you lose and you are canned. Ain’t it sad.

Brandon Harris is nothing near a thug. He is well spoken and an outstanding corner. He will be projected 1st round if not before the combine, certainly after. He will have a great career and will be a stand up guy. Like Rolle, Phillips, Buchanan, Meriweather, etc…

Mr. Harris ego is far bigger than his athletic ability. Perhaps he should reflect on the game tape of ND, where he was constantly toasted. Oh wait just look at the entire season Mr. Harris. Even if he was or is the best cover for the U, he is still is not ready for prime time. I suggest that coach Golden remove the U from the helmets until the players start to play with pride.
