‘Horns might be circling back to Boise’s Harsin to fill OC hole

By all accounts, there was/is an offer on the table for Paul Chryst to move from Wisconsin to Texas and become the Longhorns’ offensive coordinator.

It appears, though, that something is going down with Chryst, but it may not involve the Texas job.

According to OrangeBloods.com, a private plane is scheduled to fly out of Boise and is expected to land in Austin at 2:15 local time. The assumption is that one of the passengers on that plane is Boise State offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin.

Harsin was rumored to be a candidate over a month ago for the Longhorns opening, shortly after Greg Davis resigned his coordinator post. Since then, however, his name has flown under -- if not completely off -- the rumor mill radar.

And whither Chryst? We have caught wind of chatter that he’s in line -- if not the front-runner -- to become Pitt’s next head coach. Given the abruptness of what’s apparently renewed interest in Harsin on the part of Texas, that speculation may indeed have some legs.
