Pitt RB Lewis to make one last run, then bolt for pros

For those Pittsburgh fans who enjoy the football stylings of Dion Lewis, you might want to tune into the Panthers’ bowl game Saturday.

It’s looking more and more likely it’ll be the last time you be able to see the running back in a Pitt uniform.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and citing multiple unnamed sources, Lewis is expected to announce at some point next week that he will give up his final two years of eligibility and enter the draft. Sources told the paper that an announcement will occur barring a last-minute change of heart.

Lewis was third in the country in rushing in 2009 with 1,799 yards, but his production this past season dropped precipitously as he rushed for just 956 yards.

Pittsburgh will face Kentucky in the BBVA Compass Bowl Saturday.
