Report: Michigan AD meets with Miles

Louisiana State University head coach Les Miles screams at officials after a pass interference penalty while his team took on Ole Miss during their NCAA football game in Baton Rouge

We interrupt your regularly scheduled national title game to bring you an update on Michigan’s search for a new head coach.

Specifically, things appear to be getting very cozy between the school and one of their alumni.

According to a report from WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge, Michigan athletic director David Brandon met with LSU head coach Les Miles at Miles’ Baton Rouge condo Monday evening.  It had previously been reported that the two would meet Tuesday in Dallas, and Miles confirmed earlier today that he would be meeting with his former school.

From the report:

Brandon and two other Michigan representatives left the meeting and were taken to Baton Rouge Metro Airport in a Cadillac Escalade, where they were seen boarding Brandon’s Domino’s Pizza plane at 7:40 p.m.  The plane left moments later.

The jet, on loan to Brandon, landed in Baton Rouge Monday afternoon fueling speculation that he was on his way to a meeting with Miles.

It’s unclear from the report how long the meeting lasted or if Brandon offered the job to Miles during the course of the meeting.

OK, once again, back to the game…

    Les Miles says..

“The want to get to the meeting that we eventually had with Michigan is certainly a burden that I’m carrying.”

@jeffreyperria – That post is Hokey, plus they first went to the Jim before putting on more Miles.

I’m also amaized that many are so blue over this process. Brandon is simply Leaching as many opportunities as possible. In the end, this is the way they’ll become the Brady Bunch.

I have no problem with Les Miles becoming our coach but come on we need to actually search out and interview more than 2 coaches. That’s how we ended up with Rodriguez last time. Do your due diligence and actually go on a search and turn our program back into a contender like it should be!!!!!!!

It was reported that Miles met with LSU officials about a new contract late last evening. My guess is they were coming in the back door of Miles’ Condo when Brandon was going out the front, heading home.

I bet Miles signed a new contract before Brandon landed back in Michigan.

I suppose they all agreed to keep it quiet for a few days to make it look like Miles actually had to comtemplate a very tough decision.

Miles is a winner when it comes to suckering both LSU and Michigan. He’s laughing all the way to the bank.

I think it would be sweet for them to announce less as the new coach today or tomorrow. Since Michigan plays Ohio state tomorrow in basketball at Chrysler arena
