Clemson lineman arrested over the weekend

Unbelievably, it had been 11 long days since a Div. 1-A football player found himself on the wrong side of the law.

Of course, the key word there is “had” as the Anderson Independent Mail is reporting that a member of the Clemson football program was arrested over the weekend.

According to the paper, offensive tackle Brandon Thomas was arrested very early Sunday morning and charged with disorderly conduct. No details of what led to the arrest were available.

The school told the Independent Mail that they are aware of the arrest and will meet with Thomas when he returns to campus Wednesday for the start of spring semester classes.

Thomas was a four-star recruit according to Rivals.com coming out of high school, and was ranked as the No. 14 tackle in the country by the same website. The sophomore-to-be is expected to challenge for a starting job starting in spring practice.
