There is one reason and one reason only why we are posting on a JUCO return specialist signing with Ole Miss.
Dude’s name is Philander Moore. Philander. Moore.
In a press release issued by the school, the Rebels announced that Philander Moore is officially one of a handful of JUCO transfers who have become Rebels and will be on the roster for the 2011 season. Philander Moore is slated to enroll in classes later this month.
“We’re excited about Philander’s athleticism,” UM coach Houston Nutt said in a statement. “He will be able to play numerous positions, and we love his attitude and work ethic. He is a great addition to the Ole Miss family.”
Philander Moore spent the 2010 season at Blinn College, the same junior college Cam Newton attended before moving on and winning a national title -- and the Heisman -- at Auburn.
OK, I just gotta ask: who the heck names a newborn “Philander”, especially when your last name is Moore? Heck, who does it regardless of the surname?
