Florida goes Young for defensive line coach

Will Muschamp has completed his staff at the University of Florida by hiring former San Fransisco 49er’s defensive tackle Bryant Young as co-defensive line coach for the Gators.

Appropriately, Young brings some youth to Muschamp’s staff, both in age and experience. The 38-year-old former lineman held brief stints at Notre Dame in 2009 as a graduate assistant under then head coach and current Florida offensive coordinator Charlie Weis, and as defensive line coach at San Jose State.

“We want to be a program built on toughness – both physically and mentally, and there are not too many people tougher than Bryant,” Muschamp said on his final hire. “He was a leader, blue-collar player and a winner. He will demand his players to have the same attributes.”
