Kansas WR busted on drunk-driving charge

After a brief four-day respite, a college football player has once again found himself making news for all of the wrong reasons.

According to the Lawrence Journal-World, Kansas wide receiver Chris Omigie was arrested very early Saturday morning on suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Other than the arrest occurred after a traffic stop, no further details were available.

“He is still a member of our team. Coach (Turner) Gill will handle the discipline internally,” Jim Marchiony, a KU associate athletics director, told the paper.

The redshirt freshman played in 10 games last season and had seven receptions for 73 yards.
