Nate Montana officially transferring to, you guessed it, Montana

So, go ahead. Let the jokes begin.

In an e-mail to the Associated Press Monday night, Montana athletic director Jim O’Day confirmed that Nate Montana was indeed admitted to the university and would be eligible to play this upcoming season.

Montana, a junior, played in three games last season, completing 50 percent of his passes for 116 yards and an interception.

Both of Notre Dame’s quarterbacks who saw significant playing time last season, Dayne Crist and Tommy Rees, will be returning for 2011.

Former Michigan quarterback Tate Forcier also had the Grizzlies on his short list of potential destinations before ultimately transferring to Miami.
