Kiffin kicking the tires on ex-'Huskers assistant

Earlier this week, Shawn Watson landed on his collegiate feet after “parting ways” with Nebraska by becoming Louisville’s new quarterbacks coach.

Now comes word that another excommunicated Cornhuskers assistant is up for a job on the other side of the country.

Sean Callahan of HuskersIllustrated.com tweeted earlier Friday that he’s hearing “Ted Gilmore is a serious candidate to land at USC for their WR’s opening.” Gilmore has somewhat of a past with the current Trojans head coach as Lane Kiffin attempted to make him a part of his Oakland Raiders staff.

Gilmore had spent the past six seasons as wide receivers coach at Nebraska, and the last four with the additional title of recruiting coordinator.

Prior to his time in Lincoln, Gilmore had also spent time on staffs at Colorado, Purdue, Houston, Kansas and Wyoming.
