Versus to air Irish spring game

If you happen to be one of those interested in how Notre Dame will look in Year Two of the Brian Kelly regime, you’re in luck.

According to our old pal Keith Arnold over at his Inside the Irish blog, cable channel Versus -- now a part of the NBC Sports family following NBC Universal’s merger with Comcast -- will air the Irish’s spring game on April 16 at 1 p.m. ET. It will mark the first time the Blue-Gold game has been aired on a national level in the 82 years of the annual contest.

As noted in the release, the Domers will return 17 starters from a team that went 8-5 -- including a bowl -- in their first year under Kelly.

The spring game airing will be preceded by the channel televising “three of the most legendary Notre Dame football games to ever air on NBC Sports” on St. Patrick’s Day March 17. Included in that trio of games is the “Bush Push” loss to USC in 2005, as well as the snowy 1992 come-from-behind win over Penn State and the 1993 win over No. 1 Florida State.

And, if you’re into the poll thing -- not that there’s anything wrong with that -- you can vote for the ten most memorable moments of Notre Dame on NBC by clicking HERE.

Now, feel free to whine and/or cry in the comments section about us having the nerve and/or gall to post about Notre Dame football.
