After giving up a record number of sacks (61) last season, Rutgers can ill afford to lose what quality talent they have returning in 2011. Unfortunately, that may very well be the case.
The Newark Star Ledger is reporting that starting left guard Desmond Wynn (pictured, left) suffered what appeared to be a serious injury during this morning’s practice. Head coach Greg Schiano wasn’t exactly optimistic about the prognosis when discussing the situation with the media following practice.
“It may be,” Schiano said when asked if the injury is serious. “I don’t know yet.”
An MRI will be performed to determine the extent of the damage. When those results will be available is unknown at this time.
The fifth-year senior started 12 games for the Scarlet Knights in 2010.
