Duke LB charged with trafficking cocaine

Well, that will certainly get your attention. And reset the “Days Without an Arrest” ticker back to double zeros.

Earlier this afternoon, Duke announced via a press release the dismissal of sophomore Tyree Glover for conduct unbecoming of a member of the program. Apparently, part of that vast “conduct unbecoming” umbrella covers a football player attempting to play the role of a modern-day, real-life Tony Montana. Allegedly.

According to the Durham Herald-Sun, Glover was arrested Tuesday and charged with trafficking in cocaine and possession of marijuana and cocaine with the intent to sell and deliver. Both of those charges are felonies.

Following the arrest and subsequent acquisition of a search warrant, police confiscated 29.6 grams of powder cocaine and 72.4 grams of marijuana from his dorm room.

Glover is currently being held in the Durham County Jail on a $750,000 bond.

In his two seasons with the Blue Devils, Glover had played in 23 games, mainly as a backup.
