Already suspended for this year’s season opener due to an “issue” last year, Dorian Bell has now added a much lengthier suspension to his Ohio State résumé, Bucknuts.com is reporting.
According to the website, the linebacker has been suspended for the entire 2011 season for violating an unspecified rule. The Columbus Dispatch subsequently confirmed the suspension with head coach/Michigan billboard mockee Jim Tressel.
While the specific nature of the issue was not disclosed, Bucknuts reports that it was his third violation of the same rule. The second violation landed the redshirt sophomore a suspension for the Sugar Bowl win over Arkansas and the ’11 opener against Akron.
Bell played in eight games last season -- missing three due to a concussion -- and was credited with nine tackles and .5 tackles for loss.
Coming out of Monroeville, Pa., in 2009, Bell was given a five-star rating by Rivals.com and was the No. 3 outside LB in the country according to the recruiting service.
