UConn latest to see player say goodbye

The Season of Transfers continues Tuesday afternoon, with a report that UConn is the latest to suffer from attrition to their roster.

According to Desmond Connor of the Hartford Courant, wide receiver Dwayne Difton has decided to transfer from the Huskies. Connor writes that Difton still has some paperwork to clean up, but will be leaving the school after two seasons.

Reportedly, there appears to be two reasons for his departure.

One, Difton was very close to Jasper Howard, the cornerback who stabbed to death during the 2010 season. Secondly, Difton’s aunt passed away during spring practice and the junior fell behind as new head coach Paul Pasqualoni implemented a new offense.

There’s no word on where the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., product may land.

Difton finishes his UConn career with 22 receptions for 195 yards.
