Whether they’re just in a bad mood, or genuinely not interested, it looks as though USC will not be contacting former Michigan quarterback Tate Forcier for his services.
Forcier, fresh off his notable shunning of Miami, mentioned to ESPN’s Joe Schad on Tuesday that he was interested in transferring to a handful of schools that included Auburn, Kansas State, Montana, San Diego State and USC.
However, it appears, through no decision of his own, that Forcier can cross the Trojans off his list.
Citing an unnamed source close to the situation, but unable to speak publicly about recruiting (i.e. sketchy), ESPN Los Angeles’ Pedro Moura is reporting that the Trojans “have not contacted the San Diego native and have no immediate plans to do so.”
In his conversation with Schad, Forcier mentioned that he wished to be closer to home so his family could better afford to see him play.
Forcier, if he were to transfer to USC (or any Division 1 school for that matter), would have to sit out a year per NCAA rules. Currently, USC is crowded at the quarterback spot with three signal-callers -- Jesse Scroggins, Cody Kessler and Max Wittek -- with four years of eligibility remaining.
