Ex-Auburn LB Jessel Curry makes way to JUCO ranks

In early April, it was reported that Jessel Curry was no longer a member of the Auburn football program due to personal issues.

At the time, head coach Gene Chizik denied the reports and maintained that the linebacker was still a part of the Tigers team. Fast-forward nearly two months, however, and that’s reportedly no longer the case.

According to Scout.com by way of the Opelika-Auburn News, Curry’s current plans consist of enrolling in a California community college -- Grossmont College in El Cajon, Calif. -- this summer. Obviously, that would rule the LB out of being available for Auburn’s 2011 season.

Curry did not participate in spring practice even as he was listed on the Tiger’s pre-spring roster.

As a true freshman last year, Curry played in six games, although he appeared in none after the first half of the season. Coming out of Buford, Ga., Curry was rated as a three-star recruit by Rivals.com.
