Concussion a lingering concern for younger UW Fogerson

It’s been a rough last few months for Washington football players who answer to the sir name “Fogerson”.

First, Johri Fogerson was arrested back in March on charges of resisting arrest and possession of marijuana. Then a concussion forced Zach Fogerson, Johri’s younger brother, to miss a sizable chunk of spring practice.

While it’s been two months since the younger Fogerson suffered the head injury, the fullback is still suffering concussion-like symptoms. Suffice to say, head coach Steve Sarkisian is more than a little concerned regarding his player’s health.

There is still some lingering effects of it,’' Sarkisian told Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times. “He’s just not symptom free. There are still symptoms of what would be a concussion, and this is a pretty far time out now. So for that to still be there is concerning to me and I’m not going to do anything by any means to rush this thing, to make this thing try to happen sooner rather than later.”

Sarkisian added that “there’s still some uncertainty” as it pertains to Fogerson’s availability for the start of summer camp.

Fogerson was listed as No. 2 on the post-spring depth chart, although that was largely due to his absence for a significant portion of the sessions. As a true freshman in 2010, Fogerson played in seven games.
