Already this offseason, five Alabama players have decided to take their leave of the Tide football program.
In the not-too-distant future, that number could become an even six.
According to Chase Goodbread of TideSports.com, defensive lineman Darrington Sentimore is currently exploring his football options, up to and including a transfer. It’s unclear at this point in time why Sentimore is considering a move from the program and yes this is where you should insert your Nick Saban/oversigning jabs.
Sentimore, a four-star member of the Tide’s 2009 recruiting class out of Destrehan, La., is reportedly considering a transfer to Miami (Fla.) if he decides to move on.
As a redshirt freshman in 2010, Sentimore played in 11 games. Based on his performance this spring and the praise he garnered from Saban, Sentimore was expected to see an increased role in the Tide’s line rotation.
If Sentimore does decide to jump Saban’s ship, he would join defensive lineman Brandon Moore, running backs Demetrius Goode and Corey Grant, defensive back B.J. Scott and linebacker Petey Smith as players who have left the Tuscaloosa school since the middle of January.
