Another Tide player ‘exploring transfer options’

BCS Championship Football

Already this offseason, five Alabama players have decided to take their leave of the Tide football program.

In the not-too-distant future, that number could become an even six.

According to Chase Goodbread of TideSports.com, defensive lineman Darrington Sentimore is currently exploring his football options, up to and including a transfer.  It’s unclear at this point in time why Sentimore is considering a move from the program and yes this is where you should insert your Nick Saban/oversigning jabs.

Sentimore, a four-star member of the Tide’s 2009 recruiting class out of Destrehan, La., is reportedly considering a transfer to Miami (Fla.) if he decides to move on.

As a redshirt freshman in 2010, Sentimore played in 11 games.  Based on his performance this spring and the praise he garnered from Saban, Sentimore was expected to see an increased role in the Tide’s line rotation.

If Sentimore does decide to jump Saban’s ship, he would join defensive lineman Brandon Moore, running backs Demetrius Goode and Corey Grant, defensive back B.J. Scott and linebacker Petey Smith as players who have left the Tuscaloosa school since the middle of January.

Give them a look Coach Hoke – there is no shame in honorable gleaning from one of the best programs in the country – maybe a diamond in that Crimson rough that would look VERY, VERY good in Maize and Blue.

That would make the 2012 opener in Arlington a hoot and even mo betta!

Sentimore contributed to the Tide’s Defense last year – he has real promise. I doubt he wants to sit out a year before he can play but Michigan would be a great fit for him – he could end up being a really good in the Big 10

Funny how all the Tide bashers start to salivate when we jettison our dead weight!

I guess envy is in the eyes of the beholder!

    Roll Tide!

    It isn’t just called OVERSIGNING.

It is also called UNETHICAL and CHEATING.

SEC schools blabber superiority but they have to oversign players as insurance policies in order to compete against schools who don’t do it. Sad.

@WingT- very true – and we need the help on D immediately.

@brownsfrown – get a clue if you think I’m a Tide hater. Try READING before you post to avoid looking like an airhead.

@lethimplaycoach – Hey – they sign whom they can sign because they can. I hope to worry about balancing the the same decisions soon.

Read it. But you’re still envious. Doesn’t really matter if you’re a hater.

@brownsfrown – Respect is not envy.

Michigan doesn’t ‘envy’ – our historic success gives us plenty to think about.
