Eric LeGrand tweets a picture worth a standing ovation

There continues to be great news coming from the Eric LeGrand camp today.

The Rutgers defensive lineman has been making significant strides since a neck injury paralyzed him from the neck down last October and today — one week after mentioning he was moving his arms “little by little” — LeGrand tweeted a photo of himself standing with the assistance of a machine.

The caption read “Standing tall, we can’t fall. Standing upright again.”

(That lump in your throat, along with the heart palpitations, should subside in about 10 minutes)

Rutgers did not say if the update by LeGrand was a significant step in his recovery efforts. Regardless, LeGrand has come a long way and any progress is worth mentioning.

Tears filled our eyes and it has been somewhat longer than 10 minutes that we could respond and post. What a blessing! Thank God for new technology, medical breakthroughs but most of all thank Eric for his faith and dogged determination! What a great inspiration! He is reaching so many people through his progress and his positive attitude. Keep up the great work Eric! You stand tall and will continue to stand tall! Our best and prayers to Eric, his family, and friends, and those who are working with him to see him fully rehabilitated and functioning healthy again!

‘southernpatriots’, I echo what TxGrown says. Thank you for stating what we all feel. Wow! What an incredible story. This kid is going to have a tremendous testimony to share with others… and soon! Eric, you truly are an inspiration to those who have been following your story.

Ben, thanks for keeping this story front-and-center.

BTW, any chance the idiot that gave ‘southernpatriots’ a thumbs-down for their post actually have the guts to identify themself? Or is it just easier to hide behind a mouse-click? What a jerk…

SouthernPatriots we join with all the great and kind posters on this topic and thank you for writing our heart as well. We also join our fellow posters and wonder what kind of human (maybe a child?) puts negatives on everyone’s postings. We have never done this before, but we are putting positive thumbs up for everyone and we will do it again tomorrow or as early as the system will allow us because we are not going to let some child affect the good wishes and good will being expressed by all posters! Thank God for you all!

What wonderful news! That makes me realize I can make it through my challenges as well!

parkcityute and all posters: I am going to do what you have done and give thumbs up to everyone as often as I can! What a pitiful person to give thumbs down!
