You mean to tell me USC, with Kiffin and Coach O on staff, is the only institution with student athletes that drink too much and say dumbass things? No, but TMZ isn’t hanging out at Applebees so we aren’t going to hear kids places not located near a Hollywood club. Did the kid come off as a total jackass who deserves some type of punishment for embarrassing their university? No doubt. But, no reason to turn this into a USC thing. This could’ve been a kid from any school in the country.

Point well taken, pricecube…I agree with you: USC with Kiffin & Friends will hand USC a major blunder one day very soon (we can all count on that). However, if you looked just a little further back in my response, you’ll see my focus was far more ‘generalized’ rather than just looking at this individual:

Granted, this article addresses one such idiot…so forgive me if I steered you & others away from making generalizations. I hope you have noticed, though, that likenesses of him can be found just about everywhere…just look at all the bad attitudes & disrespect by athletes toward their coaches and schools, not following teamrules, arrests and subsequent suspensions that are skyrocketing (not just for misdemeanors, but serious felonies as well).

The above drunken tirade (although embarassing in its media scrutiny) is miniscule compared to what is happening all over the country. Taking a good look at recruits before committting them will help a lot…at USC & everywhere. I understand, though, that telling Kiffin this could be a major task in itself.

But, yes, I agree 100% with you. Maybe taking a good look at potential coaches 1st is called for here.

I would be interested, however, in knowing if he was old enough to drink and who was driving the car. If both those answers go “against” him, THEN my tolerance level has ended & USC better ‘kick him to the curb (star running back or not)! It’ll be interesting to see how this gets handled in the end.

What an absolute idiot. On the bright side for me, at least it’s a reminder the James Harrison interview could have been worse.

Obviously Tyler isn’t taking his disciplinary situation seriously. I hope USC and the NCAA watch this footage and make him feel the pain. Sorry … my tolerance for this kind of crap has maxed out.
