Underage drinking bust lands South Carolina defender a suspension

There’s another alcohol-related incident coming out of South Carolina that, for once, doesn’t involve Stephen Garcia.

But it will result in a suspension nevertheless.

According to multiple media outlets in the area, incoming freshman Edward Muldrow has been suspended from the Gamecocks after he was arrested for underage drinking late last week.

The bad news is Muldrow didn’t even make it to the fall before being suspended.

The good news is, if we’re using the Garcia method of reinstatement, he’ll have at least four more chances to redeem himself.

The details from the arrest warrant state a “Columbia police officer saw Muldrow with a bottle of beer in Columbia’s Five Points... the officer asked Muldrow to stop and to come toward him, and... Muldrow threw the bottle in the bushes.”

Although he reportedly cooperated with police after the beer-tossing incident, Muldrow apparently (go figure) smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech.

The Georgia native was then taken to the Richland County Detention Center.

South Carolina has yet to comment on Muldrow’s future status.
