Academic issues have D-lineman looking to be released from USC

Yesterday, JT mentioned that Kansas was losing a running back as an academic casualty resulting from poor ACT scores.

Looks like USC is in the same boat with one of the their now former signees.

ESPN Los Angeles notes that 2011 commit Steve Dillon will not be joining the Trojans on the football field this fall due to academic problems, and is now looking for his release from the school. Dillon confirmed he was seeking release in a text message to ESPNLA.

Where Dillon will head next is unknown, although he had scholarship offers from a handful of other Pac-12 institutions, but a spot in the JUCO ranks could be his temporary destination.

Dillon, a three-star lineman from Palmdale, California, recorded 74 tackles and nine sacks as a senior.
