Now we know where Stephen Garcia gets it.
Courtesy of arrestnation.com, South Carolina quarterbacks coach G.A. Mangus was arrested early this morning in Greenville, South Carolina on a charge of nuisance conduct.
According to the report, Mangus was seen urinating on a street curb by two officers in an unmarked police car. Police said Magus was “unsteady on his feet, had a strong odor of alcohol and his speech was slurred.”
South Carolina has since suspended Mangus, meaning he likely has four more chances to get his act together.
From the university’s release:
University of South Carolina assistant football coach G.A. Mangus has been suspended indefinitely following an incident that occurred early this morning in Greenville, head coach Steve Spurrier announced today.
“G.A. has been suspended from all coaching activities until this matter is resolved,” said Coach Spurrier. “We are disappointed in his actions and will handle it accordingly.”
This guy fits in quite well in the SEC, no?
SEC Troglodytes United!
He obviously taught Garcia EVERYTHING he knows or did Garcia teach him? They’ll probably have a drink together to discuss it.
In his defense, “G.A.” is short for “Guzzling Alcohol,” so the Cocks should have seen this coming.
LOL, too funny…how proud the ole ball coach must be, LOL
Not too good….
If this wasn’t so incredibly stupid, it would be hilariously funny.
Let me get this straight… I coach a QB who’s known for trouble tied to alcohol consumption. Okay, got that. I’m going to go out and get hammered and get arrested for something tied to… wait for it… alcohol consumption? Delightful.
I’d say only at South Carolina, but I know better. Then again, what do you expect from a school whose battle cry is, “Go Carolina! You can’t lick our ‘Cocks!”
I guess he thought moonshine did not have an odor? Must have been driving through Sumter and got lit up!
I can’t imagine what that meeting with Spurrier and with the QB, whom he admonished for a couple beers, is going to go. I think I would rather go to jail.
Your QB is a drunk and so it your QB coach makes sense to me. What I don’t get is why this guy hasn’t talked to a group of kids about the dangers of substance abuse drunk yet, like Garcia did already? Hell of a program there running down there, any school that can make Arizona State look like BYU is amazing.
Transfer this corch to Tennessee. He’d make a good hilbilly.
