Texas A&M linebacker arrested for disorderly conduct

Michael Hodges, Kyle Mangan, Eric Harper

Texas A&M begins their fall camp on Tuesday, which means that Aggie players have just a little bit more time to get into trouble before being officially placed back on lockdown for the next several months.

It seems linebacker Kyle Mangan has taken full advantage of that opportunity.

According to the Houston Chronicle, Mangan was one of three people arrested early Sunday morning — cue the “nothing good ever happens after midnight” told-ya-so’s — and charged with disorderly conduct. The fight took place in the Northgate bar district of College Station.

“I have been made aware and it is an unfortunate incident,” A&M coach Mike Sherman said. “Seems like some people have too much free time on their hands. That will be addressed shortly, as well as facing the consequences for this untimely and avoidable incident.”

Mangan started 10 games for A&M as a freshman, but has battled injuries over the past year or so. He was expected to compete for a starting job this fall. Whether he will after this latest legal slip up remains to be seen.
