Cal has joined the likes of Oregon State and Arizona State in the group of Pac-12 teams getting nicked up during fall camp with news that the Golden Bears are going to be down two players with potentially serious injuries.
According to a tweet from Golden Bears beat writer Jonathan Okanes, fullback Eric Stevens was “helped off the field with what appears to be a significant leg injury” during yesterday’s practice. The diagnosis isn’t immediately known, but Stevens is expected to have an X-ray on what he said felt like an “unstable knee“.
Meanwhile, it was noted that receiver Jackson Bouza has a broken finger that requires surgery, while linebacker Jason Gibson suffered a high ankle sprain. How long Bouza and Gibson will be out is still a question mark, but obviously, this was a rough day for Cal after the long summer layoff.
