Michigan recruit Kellen Jones lands at Oklahoma

The last time we mentioned former Michigan linebacker recruit Kellen Jones on this site, Wolverines coach Brady Hoke was informing the masses that Jones was “no longer enrolled at the University of Michigan” during Big Ten Media Days. Neither Hoke, nor U-M, would explain the situation beyond that.

But whatever the reason for Jones’ absence, he’s found his way on to Oklahoma’s roster, according to multiple reports.

ESPN’s Big 12 blogger David Ubben found some time in between all the A&M-to-SEC chaos today to note that Jones chose OU “largely because of the relationship he developed with Sooner defensive coordinator Brent Venables during the recruiting process.”

Jones joins a Sooners group that, despite the loss of fellow linebacker Travis Lewis, could very well be the favorites to win not only the Big 12, but compete for a BCS national championship.
