Maryland DT out six weeks with foot injury

Yes, this post is about an ACC team. No, it’s not about conference realignment.

It still doesn’t mean it’s not serious -- at least, in this case, for Maryland, who has lost defensive tackle Justin Anderson to a foot injury. Anderson (pictured No. 95) had surgery on his foot yesterday and is expected to miss at least six weeks, maybe more, according to head coach Randy Edsall.

“You’re going to have bumps and bruises,” Edsall said via the Baltimore Sun. “I’ve got that philosophy ‘Next guy in.’ If you get hurt, the next guy has got to be able to step up and be as good or better than the guy that he is going to replace.”

Anderson began fall camp as the No. 2 defensive tackle for the Terps. The junior started all 13 games for Maryland last season.
