Possibly big blow: Mizzou loses O-lineman to serious injury

Missouri is looking to make some noise in the first round-robin Big 12 this season -- that, or move on to the SEC -- but it may have to do so without the play of one of their starting offensive lineman.

Dave Matter of the Columbia Tribune tweets that lineman Elvis Fisherclutched [his] left knee during 1 on 1 pass rush drill vs Michael Sam. Pretty obvious he was in serious pain, was helped off field.”

Mizzou coach Gary Pinkel described Fisher’s injury as “serious”. What that means for the Tigers as it pertains to this season is still unknown.

He’s got a very serious knee injury,” Pinkel said. “It’s very serious. We’ll know more about it … and he’s probably getting an MRI as we’re talking right now. But it’s very significant.”

Other Tigers out with injuries include defensive end Brad Madison (sprained shoulder), safety Kenji Jackson and wide receiver Jerrell Jackson (hamstrings).
