Sooners officially add ex-Michigan LB Kellen Jones

Following up on reports that surfaced over the weekend, Oklahoma has added linebacker Kellen Jones to its football program, the school announced Tuesday via a press release.

Jones was a member of Michigan’s 2011 recruiting class, but abruptly left the Wolverines late last month. And, in what’s good news for both the player and the program, Jones will be eligible to play for the Sooners in 2011.

“We are excited to add Kellen to our program,” said head coach Bob Stoops in a statement. “Obviously he’s in a learning phase right now, but he has very good physical skill and is someone who can contribute to our program.”

Jones was a three-star player according to Rivals.com and the No. 29 inside LB in the country according to the recruiting service.
