Last week it was reported that Tyler Gabbert transferring to Wyoming was “almost a done deal“, although CFT was told that it wasn’t as close as reported and that there were several other schools to which the former Missouri quarterback was speaking.
One of those schools, it turns out, is a helluva lot further east and south than the MWC’s Cowboys.
Joe Schad of ESPN.com is reporting that Gabbert paid a visit to UCF on Wednesday. No further details such as the length of the visit or how close Gabbert is to choosing yet another school were given.
Gabbert, a member of the Tigers’ 2010 recruiting class who redshirted last year, entered spring practice this year as No. 3-ish in the race to replace his older brother as Mizzou’s starter. He had reportedly outperformed James Franklin through most of the first three-quarters of the sessions, but Franklin responded with improved play during the final week of spring ball as well as the spring game to maintain a hold on the job. Franklin was subsequently named the starter after spring practice, prompting Gabbert’s decision to transfer less than three weeks later.
In late June, Gabbert opted to transfer to Louisville, a decision that has since obviously not panned out for whatever reason as the brother of 2011 first-round pick Blaine Gabbert decided to leave the Cardinals less than a month later.
Someone needs to teach that kid how to hold a football.
Someone needs to give that dizzy boy a compass so that he can finally find a home….Geeeez!
He been on the phone with Ken Caldwell or Brandon Bender?
Although, it could be he just decided that living in Orlando as a 20 year old might be better than living in Wyoming.
