Already thin in the secondary to begin with, North Carolina could soon find themselves down yet another cornerback by the time the regular season rolls around.
In a release, UNC announced that sophomore cornerback Jabari Price injured a tendon in his left hand during a practice session Tuesday. As a result, he will undergo surgery Friday to repair the damage.
There’s no timetable for how long Price will be sidelined; his status will be updated by the school following the surgical procedure at the end of the week.
Price played in all 13 games in 2010, including starting the final four games of his true freshman season.
If Price does indeed miss game action, the Tar Heels would be without their two starting corners for the opener; Charles Brown has been suspended for the Sept. 3 game against James Madison.
