Two weeks before the start of his third season at UNLV, Bobby Hauck is on the receiving end of a little more job security.
According to the Las Vegas Sun, and pending September approval from the school’s Board of Regents, Hauck has been awarded a two-year contract extension tacked onto his original deal. He is now signed through the 2014 season.
The only “bad” part of the extension? It came with no change to his $350,000 annual salary, although he will still receive a $450,000 “completion bonus” at the end of his original contract as previously scheduled.
“If the regents in fact approve it, I’ll be excited about that, because I’m fired up about what’s going on with UNLV athletics,” Hauck told the Sun following practice Thursday.
Hauck came to the Rebels in 2010 following a very successful stint at 1-AA Montana. In Hauck’s first season at UNLV, the Rebels went 2-11.
