Boston College was already having to deal with the loss of starting running back and ACC preseason offensive player of the year Montel Harris because of arthroscopic knee surgery that will sideline the back for at least the first two games this season.
Now, the Eagles are dealing with another injury to their second-string running back, although the prognosis for Andre Williams appears to be much less serious.
Williams was having a great practice yesterday when he reportedly sprained his ankle, according to the Boston Globe.
“Initially said it was like a sprained ankle,” said BC coach Frank Spaziani. “Those things are ‘we’ll see tomorrow’. As long he doesn’t go square dancing tonight.”
Williams was the second-leading rusher for the Eagles last season, tallying 391 yards and a touchdown. Barring any further significant development in his injury, Williams should be back to practice soon and carrying the rushing load for Boston College until Harris is healthy enough to return.
