Ole Miss starting QB candidate arrested overnight

It appears that LSU isn’t the only SEC school whose quarterbacks have (allegedly) found themselves mired in legal issues thanks to incidents in or around drinking establishments.

According to the Jackson Clarion-Ledger, quarterback Randall Mackey was arrested late Monday night/early Tuesday morning and charged with disorderly conduct. The charge stemmed from a fight that broke out at The Lyric nightclub.

No details were given as to what led to either the fight or Mackey’s charge.

Mackey has been in a three-way competition with Barry Brunetti and Zach Stoudt for the starting job throughout summer camp, although it’s believed the starter will either be Mackey or Brunetti. It’s unclear what this arrest will do to Mackey’s chances of replacing Jeremiah Masoli as the starter.
