For USC, Tuesday was a bad news kind of day.
First, Trojans coach Lane Kiffin announced that tight end Junior Pomee, a true freshman from Moreno Valley, California, suffered a broken foot on Sunday and will miss the entire season.
The four-star recruit was a highly-touted tight end who chose the Trojans over Florida, UCLA, Arizona and others.
USC athletics’ official twitter page subsequently offered this response:
“WR Markeith Ambles withdrew from USC after being declared academically ineligible this year. He is no longer part of the program.”
Ambles was a five-star receiver according to Rivals.com and part of the USC 2010 recruiting class.
