‘Horns lose LB Demarco Cobbs indefinitely to broken arm

Demarco Cobbs

On the same day Texas officially lost one of their top offensive recruits from the 2010 class, the Longhorns also lost one of their most talented defensive players from the same group, albeit for an entirely different reason.

In the same release announcing Connor Wood would be transferring to Colorado, UT also confirmed that linebacker Demarco Cobbs suffered a fractured right forearm during practice on Tuesday.  The official prognosis is that the sophomore will be out indefinitely.

Cobbs had been listed as the backup to starting strongside linebacker Jordan Hicks.

As a true freshman last season, Cobbs played in all 12 games.  Rivals.com rated Cobbs as a four-star recruit and the No. 3 player at any position in the state of Oklahoma.

Damn. He was a back-up, but he was still set to have a big year. In comes Tevin Jackson. He’s got an interesting story of his own. In a way, it’s awesome that he’s getting a chance, too.
